Soon after Jim Tyler’s Dance Group show, Beverly Hirschfeld choreographed and produced a dance concert with Bonnie Jo Bainbridge, and Paul Magloff. Because Bonnie and Paul had been in Jim’s show, it was like a mini reunion.

Very cold weather inside the church. I burned my finger on a hot light bulb, but had a good time. After the photo shoot/rehearsal, I went over to Bonnie’s for hot lemon drink, and we picked clothes for her when she performs tomorrow in my short movie “LEGGO.” But that’s another story.

For the first two performances of Bev’s dance concert, I assisted setting up chairs, with makeup, etc. I was back in Boston during the second two performances. By the way, Paul was my apartment-mate and introduced me to the astonishing avocado, which I’d never eaten before.

During this rehearsal, I shot hoping to get an image for the show’s flyer Beverly had assigned to me. Bev wanted something breezy-ish. I thought the image of her hair, multiplied by a number of xeroxes, would help give the impression.

The poster text was made from dry transfer, rub-on, alphabet sheets (likely Letraset); I had limited fonts and sizes. The best I had was a san serif, bold open face, which looked chilly. She mentioned that my credit at the bottom of the poster was a smidge too large. It actuelly was way too big. At the time, it didn’t occur to me I could have made a xerox of my credit at 50 percent. It bothers me to this day that I didn’t accommodate her.

So here, now, some 54 years later, you can see an improved version of the poster for the show “People Breeze” that was performed at Calvary Church, Park Ave at 21 St., NYC, on February 16, 17, 23, and 24 in 1968.
