Nothing fancy here; Demian just stood behind the ticket counter and watched the mob swamp Pre, as he went to his next track meet and had (yet another) tiff with his sweetheart.

“Prefontaine” (1997) is a biographical movie, which chronicles the life of the American long-distance runner Steve Prefontaine, up to his death at age 24. Jared Leto plays the title character, and R. Lee Ermey plays his coach, Bill Bowerman. The story is told largely from Bill Dellinger’s the point of view, played by Ed O’Neill, the assistant coach who was with him day-to-day, and Nancy Alleman, Pre’s girlfriend at the time of his tragic death. The film was written by Steve James and Eugene Corr, and directed by Steve James.
